We are looking for candidates to join the Editorial Team for our journals: Intelligent Agriculture, Clean Energy Technologies, New Environmentally-Friendly Materials, Transportation Development Research, Urban Planning and Construction, Food and Drug Safety, Linguistic Exploration, Cultural Conflict and Integration, Philosophy and Realistic Reflection, Climate Policy and Green Economy Journal.
Role: Editor-in-Chief
Organization: NASS-owned journal, or journals published in partnership with NASS’s collaborating publishers
Term: 2 years
Location: at the holder’s host university or organization, based anywhere in the world
Closing date: Open indefinitely
The Editor-in-Chief serves a two-year term, which is renewable upon mutual agreement. Should either the EiC or the publisher wish to terminate the appointment, a three-month advance notice is required to facilitate a smooth transition. The responsibilities of the role are comprehensive, blending traditional editorial duties with functions more aligned with strategic business development.
Who are we looking for?
- Hold a doctoral degree or higher, and possess a professorship, senior researcher position, or equivalent academic rank.
- Demonstrate substantial academic impact and a sustained record of contributions in the relevant field.
- Preference will be given to candidates affiliated with institutions of strong academic reputation, particularly those with backgrounds from leading universities in China; applications from other backgrounds with recognized influence in the field are also welcome.
- Have notable influence in the relevant research area, show a genuine interest in the publishing industry, and share alignment with our mission and goals.
What are the responsibilities?
- Strategic Direction: Defining and annually optimizing the journal's thematic scope and direction to ensure it remains aligned with emerging hotspots and influential trends within its field.
- Editorial Board Management: Recruiting, inviting, and managing the editorial board. The EiC is tasked with motivating board members to contribute actively and ensuring the board reflects diversity in geography, research interests, and gender. The EiC must preside over one annual board meeting.
- Quality Control and Ethical Oversight: Upholding the highest standards of academic publishing, actively preventing scholarly misconduct, and overseeing the integrity of the peer-review process. The EiC participates in initial manuscript screening, peer review, and makes final publication decisions, acting as the ultimate arbiter in disputes between authors, reviewers, and editors.
- Journal Promotion and Advocacy: Serving as the journal's chief representative and actively promoting it at academic conferences, on social media, and through other professional platforms. A specific duty includes appropriately citing relevant articles from the journal in their own publications and reports to enhance visibility and impact.
- Content Solicitation: Proactively soliciting and ensuring the publication of at least two high-quality manuscripts annually. The Article Processing Charges (APCs) for these solicited articles may be waived.
- Publisher and Team Communication: Engaging in quarterly meetings (via video conference or in person) with the journal's editorial staff and any Associate Editors. The EiC is also responsible for providing comprehensive evaluations and writing letters of recommendation to support the journal's applications for inclusion in major academic databases.

The Associate Editor serves a two-year renewable term, with a two-month notice period required for termination by either party. The role is designed to support the Editor-in-Chief and the senior editorial team in managing the journal's operations and strategic initiatives.
Who are we looking for?
- Academic Credentials: Hold a PhD degree or higher and have a professional title of Associate Professor or above.
- Academic Impact: Showcase solid scholarly impact and a consistent record of contributions in your field.
- Institutional Preference: Preference will be given to candidates from institutions with strong academic standing and recognized research excellence, including those associated with leading universities in China. We also welcome applicants from diverse institutional contexts where they have built significant reputations in their areas of expertise.
- Commitment & Expertise: Have established academic influence in the field and be able to dedicate sufficient time to actively contribute to journal operations.
- Position Allocation: The typical quota for Associate Editors is 3–6 members per journal, with flexibility to adjust based on the journal’s scale and developmental needs. Associates are generally distributed across diverse countries and research areas to ensure broad representation.
What are the responsibilities?
- Assisting the Editor-in-Chief: Providing support in all aspects of journal management, including defining the journal's scope, recruiting editorial board members, and assisting in presiding over the annual board meeting.
- Manuscript Quality Control:Participating in the initial screening, peer review, and final decision-making processes for submitted manuscripts to ensure high standards of quality.
- Journal Promotion:Actively promoting the journal at academic events and through professional networks, and encouraging colleagues and peers to cite articles published in the journal.
- Content Solicitation:Helping to grow the journal's publication volume by soliciting and publishing three manuscripts annually. This includes two articles with waived APCs and one additional article eligible for a 50% discount.
- Communication and Planning:Participating in quarterly meetings with the journal editor and the Editor-in-Chief to contribute to the journal's development plan and strategic goals.
- Upholding Best Practices:Assisting the Editor-in-Chief in ensuring the journal adheres to the best practices of academic publishing, preventing misconduct, and helping to resolve any disputes that may arise with authors or reviewers.

The term of office for Editorial Board members is 2 years, renewable upon expiry. Either party may terminate the collaboration during the term by providing one month’s prior notice and consulting with the other party to confirm arrangements.
Who are we looking for?
- Applicants should hold a Doctoral degree (PhD/DSc or equivalent) or higher.Candidates are expected to show evidence of active and sustained scholarly engagement in their field. For those at the Assistant Professor level or early in their independent career, a growing research profile with emerging impact is valued.
- Applicants should hold the rank of Associate Professor or above. Candidates are expected to have established a solid record of research contributions and recognized influence within their discipline.
What are the responsibilities?
Editorial Board members are expected to be the operational backbone of the journal, actively driving content generation and promotion. Their responsibilities include:
- Advisory Role: Maintaining close communication with the journal's editors to provide suggestions for development and recommend outstanding scholars for collaboration.
- Special Issue Curation: Acting as academic advisors by recommending hot topics for special issues. Each board member is expected to serve as a Guest Editor to establish one special issue annually, thereby attracting high-quality manuscripts in their area of expertise.
- Content Contribution: Submitting one article or recommending one high-quality article for publication in the journal each year.
- Journal Promotion: Actively promoting the journal through various channels, including academic conferences, social media, personal web pages, and professional networks. Members are encouraged to cite relevant articles from the journal in their own work and to encourage their peers to do the same.
- Peer Review: Conducting initial screening and peer review for at least five manuscripts annually.
