Help strengthen the quality and integrity of scholarly publishing by applying to be a Reviewer Board member for NASS-owned journals or journals in partnership with NASS’s collaborating publishers.

Location: at the holder’s host university or organization, based anywhere in the world
Closing date: Open indefinitely
Who are we looking for?
- Hold a doctoral degree; current doctoral students are not eligible.
- HIndex ≥ 5 (based on Scopus) for publications in Q1/Q2 journals, or HIndex ≥ 10 for publications in Q3 journals; must have published at least one relevanttopic article in the past three years.
What are the responsibilities?
Members of the Reviewer Board commit to a set of responsibilities designed to ensure a timely and rigorous review process.
- Review Workload: Review a minimum of five manuscripts per year in their area of expertise.
- Responsiveness: Respond to a review invitation within two days of receipt.
- Timeliness: Complete a first-round review within ten days and a review of a revised manuscript within three days.
- Review Quality: Adhere strictly to the journal's double-blind peer-review policy, maintaining objectivity and providing detailed, constructive, and professional feedback. The use of unmodified AI-generated content as a review is strictly prohibited to ensure the originality and expert quality of the feedback.
What are the Rights and Benefits?
The benefits for Reviewer Board members are designed to acknowledge their critical contributions and incentivize high-quality work.
- Formal Recognition: An official certificate of appointment to the Reviewer Board.
- Public Acknowledgement: Inclusion in the journal's annual list of acknowledged reviewers published at the beginning of each year.
- APC Discounts: For each completed review, the reviewer receives a $50 APC discount voucher. These vouchers are valid for one year, can be accumulated, are transferable to other researchers, and can be applied to submissions at any journal published by the parent company.
- Awards: The opportunity to be selected as an "Outstanding Reviewer," with recognition on the journal's website and social media.
- Career Progression: Experts who consistently provide high-quality and timely reviews will be given priority consideration for membership on the journal's Editorial Board.
